Returns & Refunes
We hope you are delighted with your purchase from Bell Tent Boutique. This policy explains what to do if you change your mind or receive goods that are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
UK change-of-mind returns
If you purchase online or by telephone and decide that you no longer want your order, you must notify us within 14 days after the day you receive it.
If your order is delivered in separate consignments, the 14-day period begins after you receive the final item.
After notifying us, you must send the goods back within a further 14 days. Please retain proof showing the date on which the return was posted or collected.
A return remains within the permitted period if you can demonstrate that it was dispatched within 14 days after notifying us, even if delivery to our warehouse takes longer.
To request a return:
-
Call +44 (0)115 9663535
Please provide your name and order number, for example BTB#1234A.
You do not need to give a reason when exercising your statutory right to cancel.
EU change-of-mind returns within the statutory window
If you are purchasing from an EU member state, you may withdraw from an eligible online purchase without giving a reason.
To exercise this right:
-
You must notify us within 14 days after the day you receive your order.
-
You must then dispatch the goods within a further 14 days after notifying us.
-
You must retain proof of postage or collection showing that the goods were dispatched within that period.
If the parcel takes longer to reach us, your return will still be treated as having been sent on time if acceptable tracking or postage evidence shows that it was dispatched within the required period.
You can notify us by email or submit an international return request through your customer account.
EU returns outside the statutory window
If you first notify us after the 14-day cancellation period has expired, we are not normally required to accept a change-of-mind return.
We may agree to accept a late return at our discretion. If we do:
-
The conditions of return will be confirmed before the return is authorised
-
Original delivery charges, duties and taxes will not be refunded
-
You will be responsible for return postage and associated costs
-
The goods must be complete, unused and in resaleable condition
Acceptance of one late return does not require us to accept other returns outside the statutory period.
This section does not apply to goods that are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.
Customers outside the UK and EU
Unless mandatory consumer law in your country provides otherwise, we do not accept change-of-mind returns from destinations outside the UK and EU.
This does not affect any rights you may have if goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.
Please contact us before returning an international order. You can email us or use your customer account.
Return postage
We do not provide free change-of-mind returns.
You are responsible for arranging and paying for return delivery. We strongly recommend using a tracked and appropriately insured service.
Please keep your proof of postage, collection receipt and tracking number until your return and refund have been completed. We may ask you to provide this evidence.
If goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, please contact us before returning them. Where you have a legal right to return the goods, we will arrange an appropriate return method or reimburse reasonable return costs.
Condition of change-of-mind returns
You may inspect goods to establish their nature, characteristics and operation in the same way that you reasonably could in a shop.
Please return products complete and, wherever possible, with all accessories, components, manuals and original packaging.
We may make a proportionate deduction from your refund if handling beyond what was reasonably necessary to inspect the goods has reduced their value. This could include:
-
Pitching or using a tent beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it
-
Assembling, lighting or using a stove
-
Using a product outdoors
-
Returning a product incomplete
-
Damage caused by use or inadequate return packaging
Any deduction will reflect the actual reduction in value. We do not apply a fixed restocking or depreciation fee to a statutory cancellation.
Refunds within the statutory cancellation period
UK orders
Standard UK delivery is free, so there is no original standard delivery charge to refund.
We will refund the price paid for eligible returned goods, subject to any lawful deduction for diminished value.
EU orders
For an eligible EU statutory cancellation, we will refund:
-
The price paid for the returned goods, subject to any lawful deduction for diminished value
-
Any other amount that applicable consumer law requires us to refund, normally including the cost of our least expensive standard outbound delivery service
If a more expensive or enhanced delivery option was selected, the additional amount above the least expensive standard delivery cost will not be refunded.
You remain responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us.
Refund timing
Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method.
We may withhold a change-of-mind refund until:
-
We receive the returned goods; or
-
You provide satisfactory evidence that the goods were dispatched
We will issue the refund without undue delay and within the applicable statutory deadline.
International returns and customs
Please contact us before sending an international return so that we can provide the correct return and customs instructions.
You must:
-
Complete all customs documentation accurately
-
Identify the parcel as returned goods where the applicable customs procedure permits
-
Use a tracked and appropriately insured service
-
Retain evidence of dispatch and tracking
-
Follow the return instructions provided to you
Parcels sent with incomplete or incorrect customs documentation, or which require payment of avoidable charges on delivery, may be refused.
Where permitted by law, you will be responsible for actual costs incurred because the return instructions or customs requirements were not followed correctly.
Faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed goods
If goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible and provide:
-
Your name and order number
-
A description of the problem
-
Photographs or video where these can reasonably help us assess it
Reporting transit damage promptly helps us investigate the matter with the delivery provider, but it does not reduce your statutory rights.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund. We do not apply a restocking fee to faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed goods.
